Service Statistics Details

SiteScripter Service Statistics provides an automated method of counting patron transactions at your library's service points. Any number of services can be tracked at any number of service locations within your library, including, for example, reference desks, circulation desks, and periodicals desks.

You define the services you will track using the Service Statistics Admin tool.

Now you define the service locations at your library. Any number of service locations can be defined.

You assign which services are to be tracked at each location. Any of the defined services can be included and displayed in any order you choose.

Your public services staff member uses the Service Statistics tool to access the pop-up button bar for the location at which he or she is working. Only authorized staff members can access this tool.

After each patron transaction, your staff member simply clicks the appropriate service button to increment the count. Errors can be corrected easily by clicking the Decrement Counts icon in the upper-right-hand corner of the button bar.

To generate reports of your collected data, use the Reports section of the Service Statistics Admin tool. The report types are:

• Frequency by Location,
• Frequency by Service,
• Frequency by Day-of-the-Week,
• Frequency by Hour-of-the-Day,
• Location by Service,
• Location by Day-of-the-Week,
• Location by Hour-of-the-Day,
• Service by Day-of-the-Week,
• Service by Hour-of-the-Day, and
• Hour-of-the-Day by Day-of-the-Week.

In addition to totals and standard bar graphs, heat maps use colors to vividly express relationships between two variables, such as time of day and day of the week. And all of your data can be downloaded for additional analysis using your favorite spreadsheet program.
